Call for submissions for the Galt's September 2008 Art Walk
Sculpture Show.
The Galt Museum & Archives invites artists in SW Alberta to
submit a 3 dimensional art piece for consideration in the Galt Museum’s Art
Walk Sculpture Show Saturday, September 13 & Sunday, September 14, 2008.
A photograph or conceptual drawing of the piece, along with an artist’s
statement and label information should be submitted by Friday, August 29,

The Tycquet Twins: Summer Holiday

Thirteen-year-old twins, Tylan and Trina face stormy, tumultuous teen
experiences during the summer months that they spend under the protective
care of their great-aunt, Aunt Madge. The fact that their parents were
working abroad gave the twins a chance to develop their own coping skills
and a little independence on their great-aunt’s acreage. They search for
ways to be accepted by their peers, learn to believe in themselves,
experience the joys of hard work, face new challenges and accept change.
A seasoned presenter,
Judy Crawford pushes youth to better themselves, to widen their perspective
and to keep on, despite any obstacle that faces them. Judy is commonly
invited into the schools to discuss topics such as anti-bullying, writing
and creativity. Her presentations get excellent reviews from parents,
teachers and students. Judy pushes youth to better themselves.

Most Vocal Poets Society
MOST VOCAL Poets Society hosts performance readings in Lethbridge
approximately once a month throughout non-summer months. Readings are
generally on a Wednesday and start at 8 p.m. With support
from the Canada Council of the Arts, readings are generally free
unless otherwise noted.
Mudlark Writers Collective
A collection of former students of retired University of Lethbridge
English professor, Martin Oordt who meet regularly to present and workshop
each other's material and to conduct readings.
